Today’s Little Life Words are particularly little. They are simply here to say that you, my dear one, have been loved for a very, very, very long time.
Longer than the grief you hold,
longer than the stories you've told.
Longer than the pain you carry,
longer than the wounds you bury.
Longer than mistakes you’ve made,
longer than sweet memories fade,
You have been loved long.
When, at the end of his earthly life, Jesus prayed for his disciples, he prayed about such love. He said of his heavenly father:
“You loved me long before there ever was a world - before the beginning of time.”
(John 17 Message / Passion translations)
And then he said of those surrounding him, “You love them in the same way.”
Dear precious human - fallible and frail - you are loved with an unfathomable, everlasting, vast beyond all measure love.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
Before the beginning, beyond the end: You.Are.Loved.

If this met you in a meaningful way, please consider supporting my words and work in the world! And thank you kindly!
DEEPER DIVE
Ponder:
What is your earliest memory of being loved?
What has caused you to feel separated from love?
Practice:
Rewrite Romans 8:38-39 filling in the blanks with words of your own.
“For I am convinced that neither ________ nor ________, neither ________ nor ________, neither the ________ nor the ________, nor any ________, neither ________ nor ________, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate [me] from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Our Song this week is Longer Than by Dan Fogelberg.
Yes, this is from the late 70’s when a number of you weren’t even born! And yes, the video is a bit cringe worthy. But don’t miss it. It’s the sweetest song ever.
Pray:
Tell me again how you love me.
Deep peace to you, friend, and abounding love ~
Oh, friend!!! What a lovely, beautiful way to start the day...with the reminder of how much and how long and how perfectly I’ve been loved. It also reminded me of my Gram. So much love exuded from her home...from her kitchen...from her lap. Thank you for that. 🥰
